home button not working

i installed adb but it cannot find my device i went into settings and turned off usb debugging and turned it back on and still nothing please help

yea that works but there is no way to go back lets say I'm looking at the battery info I hit the sleep button or "home" button it takes me home but if I open settings again I'm still looking at the battery info.
