Are you sure you can't get into bootie by pressing and holding power and volume up?

when I press power + volume up if it is plugged into a computer I get a flashing white light at the bottom on the home button and the computer will see palm but with no drivers. If it is unplugged it will boot straight to the battery with the question mark.

Does anyone have the actual drivers for the touchpad for windows 7 that they could post? I can get it to see the device but it can't find the touchpad drivers. In my device manager it just shows palm with an exclamation mark.

You can see if webOS doctor will work.

Like DarkRedFlame said, try WebOSDoctor first, Otherwise the Palm SDK should help https://developer.palm.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&layout=page&id=1661.

otherwise try the WebOS Quick Install app

(It installs novacom drivers which should help)

Well thank you for all the replies but I think the battery has to be physically removed. WebOS Doctor will not recognize my device. Windows will not even recognize it. It just says drivers could not be found when I plug it in. I would return it using the warranty but I threw away the best buy receipt. Really stupid. Oh well. Thanks again.

I would call up hp and send it in for repair. Should be covered under a 1 year manufacturer warranty.
