Step 5 help installing Android

Postby Banzo » Fri Sep 09, 2011 8:14 am

So i've followed all the steps as posted and watched the YouTube video. however i keep coming unstuck at step 5.

I've got the HP WebOS SDK, The torrent from last night and Novacom and Novaterm.
I've placed both the systems.rar and the systems(unrared) into various different folders now, and its still throwing up file path not found in Command Prompt.
Btw i know your not meant to use both the rar'ed and unrared files but i have been doing to try to get it to work.

If anyone could help me and let me know what directory and where to place the systems file i would be grateful.

Thanks.

Code: Select all
novacom put file://tmp/system/system.tar.bz < system.tar.bz

Which command is not found the novacom issuance itself? or the system.tar.bz?

it's not finding system.tar.bz. you need to put it in the same dir as novacom

No you don't have to put in same dir, but you do have to call it out properly ie: ~/Downloads/blah blah..

Rather than put it on the desktop, put it in a directory that you can get to from a dos prompt. e.g. create a directory called C:\ANDROID and put it there. You can then go to DOS command prompt, cd C:\ANDROID, and then run the novacom stuff from there

If you are on linux run the following commands to locate system.tar.bz:

Code: Select all
updatedb

Wait for this command to finish then run the following command:

Code: Select all
locate system.tar.bz

This will provide you with a list of all files with the name system.tar.bz. You can then copy the one found and place it at the end of the put command as such:

Code: Select all
novacom put file://tmp/system/system.tar.bz < /path/to/system.tar.bz
